Job Title: LPN Healthcare Professional

Fort Norfolk Retirement Community, Inc. is seeking a compassionate and highly qualified LPN to join our team at Harbor's Edge, a premier 5-star Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) located in Norfolk, Virginia.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled LPN to provide direct nursing care services to our residents, promoting their physical, personal, and emotional well-being. The ideal candidate will have experience in senior living, long-term care, and healthcare, with a passion for working with the elderly population.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct nursing care services to residents, following established care plans.
  • Perform resident assessments, observing and documenting pertinent information, changes in condition, and reporting any changes to nursing and physician management.
  • Check and record vital signs, weights, and blood sugars, administer medications, injections, and other treatments as authorized.
  • Assist residents with transfers and ambulation, using proper body mechanics and mechanical devices.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, oral care, toileting, dressing, and participation in recreational activities.
  • Assist with resident admissions and discharges.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Current Virginia state license as an LPN.
  • Current Adult CPR, BLS/AED certification.
  • At least three years of progressive work experience in a CCRC, long-term care, home health agency, or related medical environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, attention to detail, organizational, time management, critical thinking, and multi-tasking skills.
  • High self-initiative and ability to accurately deliver and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Skilled at working with the elderly population in a courteous, friendly, professional manner, demonstrating patience and compassion.
