Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Node.js Developer to join our team at System Soft Technologies. This role is fully remote and offers a competitive salary range of $150,000 - $175,000 plus bonuses. Candidates must be US Citizens or Green Card holders.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide and mentor a team of 5-12 backend developers, promoting a culture of collaboration and innovation.
- Design and develop robust backend applications utilizing TypeScript, JavaScript, and GraphQL.
- Ensure code quality by writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code that adheres to industry best practices.
- Collaborate with frontend developers to achieve seamless integration between client-side and server-side logic through GraphQL queries and mutations.
- Implement efficient GraphQL APIs with a strong emphasis on security and performance optimization.
- Work closely with the database team to optimize data storage and retrieval processes for GraphQL queries.
- Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to junior developers on GraphQL and backend development practices.
- Participate in system design discussions, focusing on GraphQL architecture and making informed technical recommendations.
- Facilitate regular one-on-one meetings with team members to provide constructive feedback and address any concerns.
- Oversee deployment processes to ensure the smooth delivery of applications.
- Engage in agile development practices, including sprint planning and retrospectives.
Required Skills
- Extensive experience in backend development.
- Proficiency in TypeScript and experience with API development (both GraphQL and RESTful).
- Strong understanding of SQL and the ability to write and review SQL queries.
- Familiarity with databases such as Postgres, Redis, and ElasticSearch/OpenSearch.
- Experience with AWS technologies, including OpenSearch, CloudFormation, and Lambda.
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- B.S./M.S. in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in backend system development.
- 4+ years of experience with GraphQL.
- 2+ years in a leadership role.
