Responsibilities- Provide care to residents in accordance with physician orders, recognized standards of practice, and established company policies and procedures.
- Travel to various communities on a rotating schedule to cover temporary vacancies or to provide additional support.
- Assist in maintaining a physical, social, and psychological environment that promotes the best interests of residents.
- Monitor residents within state licensure regulations and supervise and direct nursing assistants where allowed by state licensure regulations.
- Assist in writing care plans based on resident needs and change of condition.
- Obtain and administer medication and treatments as prescribed by physician, documenting and reviewing medication and treatment sheets for accuracy and compliance.
- Monitor responses to care treatment plans and possess knowledge of medication interactions, notifying Nursing Supervisor or designee of any issues.
- Count controlled substances with outgoing nurse or designee and secure and correct reconciliation of controlled substances during shift.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of medicine supply room and security of discontinued medicine in accordance with federal and state regulations and company policy.
- Assist with discharge process relevant to medication and treatment orders.
- Possess knowledge of OSHA regulations, infection control standards, and emergency procedures.
- Follow policies and procedures to ensure resident safety.
- Document all pertinent information regarding nursing care, care plans, and observation of resident overall condition.
- Attend training to maintain skill level and remain current in emerging healthcare trends.
- Track mileage and other relevant travel expenses pertaining to assignment.
- Education as required to obtain state nursing license (LPN/LVN) and/or minimum of one year related experience and/or training.
- Additional education can be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
- LPN or LVN license.
- Basic CPR/first aid training.
- Fire safety training.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Depending on location of assignment, may be required to temporarily stay onsite at community or in alternate lodging provided by company.
- Standing.
- Walking.
- Sitting.
- Use hands and fingers to handle or feel.
- Reach with hands and arms.
- Climb or balance.
- Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Talk or hear.
- Ability to lift: up to 50 pounds.
- Vision.
- Requires interaction with co-workers, residents, or vendors.
- Occasional weekend, evening, or night work if needed to ensure shift coverage.
- On-Call on an as needed basis.
- Possible exposure to communicable diseases and infections.
- Potential injury from transferring, repositioning, or lifting residents.
- Exposure to latex.
- Possible exposure to various drugs, chemical, infectious, or biological hazards.
- Subject to injury from falls, burns, odors, or cuts from equipment.
- Requires Travel: Frequently.
- Requires Driving: Drives self (Tier 2).
