Cypress HCM is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join our team. This role plays a key part in architecting, designing, and implementing advanced Smart Building control solutions for clients and potential clients.

About the Job

The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating and helping design retrofit controls that deliver significant Return on Investment (ROI) opportunities for customers. They will work closely with multiple departments to develop and document designs and get projects installed in the field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with SBC Manager, Systems Engineering and other engineers on the SBC team to design and develop control systems for specific projects.
  • Draft and develop technical requirements for SBC programs and projects.
  • Program BMS primary and field controllers.
  • Develop and program BMS user interfaces.
  • Help develop controls proposals in daily operations with the Customer Solutions Group.
  • Maintain a library of standards on behalf of national account customers.
  • Perform systems integrations using a wide variety of protocols including basic software.
  • Ensure technologies are integrated and technically compliant per applicable standards.
  • Communicate results to Controls Manager, Systems Engineering and others.
  • Work collaboratively with a team of Controls personnel.
  • Set high standards that will align with the organization's goals.
Requirements
  • An understanding of IT networks, systems, and protocols.
  • Technical proficiencies in A/C electrical circuits and low voltage D/C electrical circuits and operation.
  • Ability to read and interpret blue-prints, wiring diagrams and device data sheets, as well as, familiarity with creating technical shop drawings, including riser diagrams.
  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
  • Strong technical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of Industry best practices.
  • Superior knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, Lighting and Hardware Systems.
  • Programming proficiency with Niagara based systems, including but not limited to N4.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hands-on hardware and software troubleshooting.
  • Experience in integrating computer programs.
  • Excellent organization, communication, teamwork skills.
  • Experience solving complicated problems.
  • Curiosity and self-starter when it comes to learning.
