Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our team at Golden State Foods. As a key member of our warehouse team, you will be responsible for receiving, selecting, storing, and loading products and/or materials, while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Material Handling: Safely operate a forklift or pallet jack to move products and materials throughout the warehouse, ensuring accurate and efficient loading and unloading of products.
  • Product Inspection: Visually inspect incoming and outgoing products to determine acceptability for shipment and/or receiving.
  • Inventory Management: Count and calculate product quantities to verify accuracy of shipments.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Use cleaning materials and equipment to maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Other Duties: Perform other functions as assigned by management, including pre-weighing raw ingredients and operating a forklift in a safe and efficient manner.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: One to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Licensed forklift operator with a minimum of six months of safe operation of material handling equipment.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand, walk, and twist while carrying 50-pound objects; ability to lift up to 50 pounds; ability to wear personal protective equipment and/or clothing.
Working Conditions
  • Environmental Conditions: Constantly work in damp, wet, humid, and slippery environments; constantly work near moving equipment with fumes or airborne debris; constantly work in high noise levels requiring hearing protection.
  • Machines and Equipment: Sit-down and stand-up forklifts, push/pull attachment and fork extensions, cut-resistant gloves, battery extractor and hoist mechanism, battery charging station, computer system, food safety knife, and small hand tools.
