Computer Lab Instructor

The State of Idaho is seeking a skilled Computer Lab Instructor to join our team at the North Idaho Correctional Institution. As a Computer Lab Instructor, you will provide individual and group instruction in a computer lab, evaluating student progress and ensuring a safe and secure learning environment. You will also be responsible for supervising and maintaining a computer lab, including installing, upgrading, and configuring hardware and software.
Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction in computer applications and evaluate student progress.
- Support residents in completing computer application certificates and other education opportunities.
- Monitor student behavior to maintain discipline and ensure safety and security.
- Provide IT support for classroom computers.
- Supervise and maintain a computer lab, including knowledge of computer maintenance and educational software.
- Install, upgrade, customize, and remove software.
- Perform diagnostics of hardware.
To be eligible for this position, you must have an Idaho Standard Secondary Education Certificate, an Occupational Specialist Certificate, or a bachelor's degree and two years' experience teaching individuals in a group setting. You must also be willing to work in a correctional setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in supervising, instructing, and training students in a computer lab, maintaining lab computers, and working with non-technical clientele. Familiarity with educational technology tools and network configuration and maintenance is also desirable.
