Position: Facility Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- The Facility Manager will coordinate daily tasks to align with the management team's objectives. This includes assessing requirements alongside the Senior Facilities Manager and Sustainability Management, and delegating responsibilities to the Maintenance Coordinator and external contractors.
- Continuous training and development of the Maintenance Coordinator, Maintenance Technicians, and contractors on facility operations is crucial.
- Safety is the utmost priority, and the Facility Manager will promote this throughout the organization.
- Management of the fire safety system, including regular inspections and documentation, is required. This encompasses extinguishers, fire pumps, and overall emergency preparedness.
- Maintain comprehensive records for all major assets within the facility, ensuring compliance with safety testing and inspections.
- Oversee the refrigeration system, ensuring proper inspections and documentation.
- Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of all facility-related assets.
- Monitor and calibrate temperature and humidity levels throughout the facility, adhering to established standards.
- Conduct and evaluate emergency response drills, providing feedback for improvement.
- Maintain and update all facility Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including emergency response protocols.
- Train management staff on their roles during emergencies, ensuring preparedness.
- Develop procedures in collaboration with local fire departments and insurance representatives.
- Ensure the overall cleanliness of the facility, including routine cleaning of offices, warehouses, and surrounding areas.
- Implement Integrated Pest Management strategies through consistent efforts both inside and outside the facility.
- Analyze inspection data trends and maintain open communication with management.
- Manage site security, including security services, plans, and regular audits.
- Oversee a significant portion of the annual budget, focusing on cost reduction and expense control.
- Coordinate contractor schedules and project management, ensuring compliance with budgetary constraints.
- Responsible for purchasing necessary materials and tools.
- Manage the Powered Industrial Truck Fleet, ensuring compliance with safety standards and reducing downtime.
- Schedule and verify the completion of preventative maintenance tasks, maintaining accurate logs.
- Ensure facility operations continue under adverse conditions, including severe weather.
- Be available for on-call situations, responding swiftly to minimize potential losses.
- Willingness to work overtime as necessary, maintaining a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Independently manage projects with minimal supervision.
- Develop and maintain an inventory of essential parts.
- Participate in special projects as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a related field.
- Proficient in electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, pneumatics, hydraulics, welding, and machinery repairs.
- Strong understanding of national standards relevant to facility management.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a commitment to professionalism.
- Attention to detail is essential, particularly in safety and record-keeping.
- Demonstrated ability to utilize various software applications, including word processing and spreadsheets.
- Physical capability to work at heights of up to 50 feet.
