About the Role

The Materials and Process Technology Project Manager will lead project management activities for current and future drivetrain product and supplier industrialization projects, with a primary focus on next generation lithium-ion battery manufacturing and supplier industrialization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Materials and Process Technology project management activities for current and future drivetrain product and supplier industrialization projects.
  • Identify and develop future projects for Material and Process Technology department.
  • Align project concepts with local and global Material and Process Technology management.
  • Install and coordinate project teams for new projects as needed.
  • Coordinate global Materials and Process Technology project teams to ensure strategic alignment and content delivery to both internal and external partners.
  • Collaborate with internal partners to ensure project deliverables are met within defined timelines and budgets.
  • Collaborate with local and global Material and Process Technology technical experts to provide material and materials processing expertise to support local and global product and supplier industrialization project teams.
  • Collaborate with local and global Manufacturing, Research and Development, and Quality Management experts to provide material, materials processing, and quality assurance expertise to support project goals.
  • Identify opportunities and drive improvements for both internal and external partners.
  • Value global collaboration and encourage global colleagues to engage in knowledge sharing across multiple regions and business units.
  • Recognizes cultural differences in a global environment and effectively collaborates within this diverse environment.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate detailed technical facts and concepts through written and verbal communication with internal and external partners.
  • Serves as a guide for others in area of expertise.
  • Acts as an advisor to management and key external stakeholders on broad ranging projects.
  • Uses experience to contribute to standards in which others will operate.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Materials Science Engineering, Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Electro-Chemistry, or related field.
  • Requires 5-7 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of material properties, materials characterization, materials processing, and quality assurance techniques.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of lithium-ion battery pack assembly processes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of lithium-ion battery cell production processes.
  • Demonstrated project management experience in product, supplier industrialization, or operational excellence projects.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree or PhD in Materials Science, Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Electro-Chemistry, or related field.
  • Foreign language skills (German, Spanish, Mandarin, etc.).
