Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Instrumentation Technician to join our team at Smurfit Kappa Group - US. As an Instrumentation Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, programming, calibration, and preventative maintenance of electrical equipment to improve field system operation and reduce total operating costs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, program, calibrate, and perform preventative maintenance on electrical equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation and electrical systems, including pneumatic, hydraulic, electro-mechanical, and electronic elements.
  • Develop and implement work plans to minimize production impacts and enhance the reliability of the operation.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance craft and employees to solve plant problems and achieve plant goals.
  • Utilize the CMMS to document repair notes, review repair history, and obtain materials from stores.
  • Provide field instrumentation support for all process equipment.
  • Learn and adhere to local and company requirements, rules, and procedures, and report incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions or processes.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in an industrial environment.
  • Good working knowledge of 3-phase motors and distribution, control systems, smart transmitters, and control valves.
  • Possess a high level of mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Journeyman or Master Electrician with substantial instrumentation experience preferred.
  • Basic computer skills required for email, online training, and computerized work order system.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Mechanical and electrical skills required to perform day-to-day operations and troubleshoot and resolve/repair problems.

  • Machine safety inspections.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
