The Safety and Security Specialist is responsible for safeguarding the well-being of all guests, team members, and visitors. This role emphasizes delivering exceptional service while ensuring the protection of the resort's assets.


Key Responsibilities

Essential Duties

  • Consistently adhere to the regulations of the resort to promote safe and efficient operations.
  • Follow office protocols established by security management.
  • Assist guests with room access in accordance with hotel standards.
  • Respond to phone inquiries with a standard greeting and provide necessary assistance.
  • Conduct ongoing surveillance of resort premises, adjacent properties, and CCTV systems.
  • Utilize proper radio communication protocols.
  • Complete security logs, documenting all activities during the shift.
  • Address all incidents promptly and accurately.
  • Ensure thorough completion of incident reports.
  • Manage any threats or violent situations within the resort.
  • React to emergencies, including medical situations and guest complaints.
  • Administer First Aid/CPR when required.
  • Control access to keys as per established guidelines.
  • Inspect packages and staff belongings at designated entry points.
  • Stay vigilant for suspicious individuals and take appropriate action.
  • Perform regular patrols throughout the resort, focusing on unsecured areas and documenting any findings.
  • Familiarity with the resort's computerized locking systems.
  • Process lost and found items according to established procedures.
  • Respond to guest requests without delay.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma; experience in a large hotel environment is preferred.

Skills and Competencies

  • Effective communication skills in English; knowledge of a second language is advantageous.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, while managing multiple tasks.
  • Proficient in using computers and software applications such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Physical Requirements

  • Capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physically fit to lift, pull, and push items weighing up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, reach, and bend throughout the shift.
