Position Overview

The Retail Customer Support Specialist is responsible for delivering sales assistance, which includes acquiring merchandise, calculating totals, processing payments, and providing change to customers in a knowledgeable and professional manner.

Work Environment

This role requires onsite presence at our retail location. Remote work is not an option for this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify customer requirements and recommend suitable products and related items to meet those needs.
  • Provide customers with detailed information about products, including pricing and availability.
  • Suggest or procure merchandise for customers and promote relevant add-ons.
  • Calculate total prices and applicable taxes on selected merchandise using a point-of-sale system; process payments and provide change.
  • Prepare preliminary estimates to be confirmed by a supervising team member.
  • Ensure the store maintains a high standard of presentation.
  • Manage signage and set up promotional displays.
  • Keep records of sales, assist in inventory management, or place orders for merchandise as needed.
  • Handle merchandise returns or resolve customer complaints following established protocols.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding customer service abilities.
  • Proficient in performing calculations related to discounts, interest, profit and loss, commissions, markup, selling price, ratios, proportions, and percentages; capable of measuring surfaces, volumes, weights, and dimensions.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • This role is primarily sedentary.
  • Ability to lift files (up to 5 lbs.), open filing cabinets (requiring up to 5 lbs. of force), and occasionally bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
  • Frequent use of hands/fingers for various tasks (operating, preparing, inspecting, placing, detecting, positioning).
  • Regularly alternate between standing and walking, with occasional sitting.
Compensation

Starting wages will be determined based on experience and education.
