Geriatric Physician

We are seeking a skilled Physician to join our team at Laws & Associates, a provider-led organization focused on senior living communities and their residents. Our goal is to redefine and improve how healthcare is delivered in these communities, ensuring residents receive outstanding care and clinicians can practice in a highly fulfilling and rewarding environment.
Job Summary:
As a Physician, you will apply and modify the principles, methods, and techniques of medicine to provide comprehensive geriatric primary care and post-acute care services. You will diagnose and treat a variety of diseases and injuries, ensuring comprehensive service delivery and quality patient care. Your expertise will be essential in evaluating medical procedures and everyday situations, suggesting ways to improve service delivery and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient histories and physical exams, interpreting and integrating data to determine appropriate diagnoses and treatment plans.
- Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patient needs.
- Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities.
- Collaborate with and educate Advance Practice Providers in managing patients' acute and long-term medical needs.
- Maintain and review patient records, charts, and other pertinent information accurately and efficiently.
- Instruct and educate patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions.
- Exercise autonomy in medical decision-making and provide a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of medical practice related to primary care of geriatrics and senior living communities.
- Knowledge of medical policies, regulations, and procedures.
- Skill in developing and maintaining medical quality assurance and quality control standards.
- Ability to react calmly, objectively, and effectively in emergencies.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
Education and Experience:
- Doctor of Medicine (M.D) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) degree.
- Previous experience with geriatrics in primary and post-acute care, including Senior living, SNF, IPR, and LTACH, but not required.
- Experienced or passion for value-based care preferred.
- Previous experience in EHR documentation.
- Proficiency in documenting and billing in any setting above or the hospitalist setting.
License and Certification:
- Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of employment.
- Board Certification (BC) or Board Eligibility (BE) in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
- Current DPS and DEA certificates (or in progress).
