Job Summary

The CT Technologist II is a key member of our imaging team, responsible for performing high-quality CT scans and providing exceptional patient care. This role requires a strong understanding of cross-sectional anatomy, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform CT scans with precision and accuracy, using ionizing radiation to produce high-quality images.
  • Assist physicians in the selection of practical applications and technical factors for CT scans.
  • Produce high-quality CT scans and anticipate when additional imaging would be beneficial.
  • Identify pathology and provide radiologists with accurate measurements and density readings.
  • Prepare CT films for radiologists to read and maintain accurate records.
  • Obtain complete patient history and keep log of all patients.
  • Inform all technologists working in CT of all protocols and any changes proposed by radiologists.
  • Stay current on CT procedures to provide quality service and adapt to flexible working hours.
  • Maintain contrast reaction boxes throughout the Radiology department and comply with Springfield Clinic's incident reporting policy and procedures.
  • Provide excellent customer service and adhere to Springfield Clinic's Code of Conduct and Ethics Standards.
Requirements
  • Must be a graduate of an approved A.C.R school.
  • Five years of experience in CT (Preferred)
  • Must work in a specialty location at least 80% of the time and/or take part in the departmental weekend and holiday rotation.
  • Must maintain current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in both Radiography and CT.
  • CPR certification per American Heart Association guidelines required within 30 days of hire.
  • Must maintain active accreditation in Radiography with the Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety.
Working Environment

Will be exposed to fumes from cleaning agents or x-ray film processor chemicals, in limited areas. Will be exposed to conditions including exposure to blood and bodily fluids, tissue, contagious diseases and/or potentially hazardous materials. Occasional heavy lifting required.
