About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and analytical Eligibility Specialist to join our team at Knowledge Services. As an Eligibility Specialist, you will play a critical role in assisting individuals in determining their eligibility for public assistance programs.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and verify data for public assistance programs through face-to-face interactions or phone calls with clients.
  • Ensure accurate and compliant data collection, adhering to state policies and regulations.
  • Obtain necessary release forms and medical records as required.
  • Verify income, assets, and financial documents to determine eligibility.
  • Review program requirements and regulations with clients.
  • Utilize automated systems to determine eligibility for state assistance programs.
  • Enter data into state databases and respond to client inquiries in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Highly organized and analytical team player with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Previous case management experience is a plus.
  • Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Strong customer service background with a professional demeanor.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Counseling or Social Services preferred.
  • 2 years' experience in a social service environment, state or local government desired.

What We Offer

  • A competitive hourly rate of $16.50.
  • A 37.5 hour work week, Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-4:30PM.
  • Paid time off and benefits.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent sitting, handling objects with hands.
  • Occasional standing, walking, reaching, talking, hearing, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
