Job Summary

The Psychiatric Tech provides high-quality care to patients, working collaboratively with licensed nurses to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Charge Nurse with clerical duties on the unit.
  • Promote effective communication among team members.
  • Monitor patients who are detoxing or experiencing mental instability.
Requirements
  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: Preferably one year of experience in a hospital or long-term care facility.
  • Licenses/Certificates: Prefer C.N.A. certification in the State of Tennessee. BLS certification required (AHA or Red Cross); if not current upon hire, must obtain within 6 months. SAMA certification required; if not current, must obtain within 90 days.
