THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE:

The Loss Prevention Supervisor - Organized Retail Crime (ORC) collaborates closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including law enforcement, fellow retailers, corporate investigation teams, Field Loss Prevention Managers, Supply Chain Loss Prevention, and General Managers. This role leverages all available investigative resources to mitigate and diminish the company's exposure to external ORC theft and fraud.

Under the guidance of the Lead Loss Prevention Manager (ORC), the Loss Prevention Supervisor - ORC is tasked with analyzing Loss Prevention system data generated through various software applications and surveillance systems, identifying potential fraud, procedural breaches, and training needs related to external theft focused on Organized Retail Crime within a designated market. This position involves collaboration with partners, independent decision-making, providing recommendations, and communicating with a diverse array of business partners and third parties to lessen the impact of ORC on the organization and enhance profitability.

YOU'LL ACHIEVE THESE OBJECTIVES BY:

  • Conducting data analysis, utilizing organized retail crime linking models (Detective Analytics), various exception reporting tools, data mining techniques, online sales platforms, and remote video surveillance to drive investigations related to external theft and fraud in the assigned market.
  • Initiating, documenting, and managing Organized Retail Crime (ORC) investigations using loss prevention case management tools for the designated market.
  • Collaborating with field and supply chain, e-commerce, and omni-channel loss prevention teams to carry out various external investigations, including follow-up and resolution in the assigned market.
  • Coordinating criminal reporting among various law enforcement agencies to ensure effective prosecution and recovery of losses in the assigned market.
  • Facilitating meetings and conference calls with the Lead Loss Prevention Manager ORC and various levels of field leadership to provide updates and review pertinent ORC case information, including store operations and legal services.
  • Focusing on process enhancement, including training and support for store shoplifting, burglary, and external case reporting to better understand and communicate enterprise and local trends.
  • Utilizing loss prevention case management software to connect various incidents and develop ORC cases that span multiple channels (omni-channel) in the assigned market.
  • Demonstrating proficiency with exception reporting, including ad hoc reporting.
  • Directing all ORC training and development initiatives in the assigned market.
  • Staying informed about nationwide ORC patterns and trends relevant to the assigned market.
  • Overseeing the detection, investigation, and successful resolution and prosecution of all external investigations in the assigned market.
  • Building meaningful relationships with state, local, and federal law enforcement agencies to foster sustainable partnerships and ensure presence during interviews, search warrants, and surveillance activities in the assigned market.
  • Collaborating closely with local and state governments, retailers, and industry organizations to advocate for ORC legislation in the assigned market.
  • Identifying new loss prevention and ORC case management tools.
  • Representing the company during market ORC meetings.

THE ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Wicklander-Zulawski Interviewing Certificate.
  • CFI (Certified Forensic Interviewer) preferred.
  • Three (3) years of experience in Loss Prevention, focusing on complex investigations and conducting internal/external interviews.
  • Solid understanding of current technologies and their applications to the role (MS Office, EAS, Burglar Alarms, Networks, BI, CCTV, Kronos, POS systems, case management software, exception-based reporting, etc.).
  • Ability to quickly learn new software programs with minimal training.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, electronic communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to achieve consensus at all levels of the organization through clear, concise, and comprehensive information.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and gain support from various partners to ensure successful investigations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including report development capabilities to interpret data and present summary conclusions in an understandable format.
  • Ability to work independently, utilizing excellent prioritization skills to provide productive analyses and effective problem solutions.
  • Strong business relationship skills, capable of influencing and making recommendations to business partners.
  • Dependable in delivering results with the highest operational integrity, maintaining confidentiality, and demonstrating superior organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint).

SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to influence law enforcement to resolve ORC investigations and knowledge of preparing for and testifying in Local/State/Federal Court.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Flexible schedule to meet business needs (may include evenings, weekends, and holidays).
  • In-town (within assigned market) and out-of-town travel as necessary.
  • Normal office demands (home office).
