We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant to join our team at Novant Health. As a Laboratory Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory services.
Key Responsibilities- Perform all specimen processing procedures in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
- Ensure that all laboratory procedures are conducted in a safe and efficient manner.
- Assist in the orientation and training of new personnel on laboratory equipment and software.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and hospital staff.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with medical staff regarding laboratory procedures and results.
- High School Diploma or GED required; 4-year Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- One year of relevant phlebotomy and/or specimen processing experience preferred.
- ASCP, ASPT, AMT, or NHA certification preferred for facilities where Phlebotomy is a requirement of the role.
- Ability to follow written protocols and work independently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
