Role Summary:
The MRI Technologist is responsible for performing magnetic resonance imaging procedures while ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute MRI scans adhering to departmental protocols, including advanced imaging techniques such as 3D reconstruction.
- Administer contrast media as required for specific imaging studies.
- Maintain a safe environment by upholding magnetic safety standards and ensuring the MRI suite is secure for patients and staff.
- Operate MRI equipment efficiently, ensuring it is clean and properly disinfected, while conducting routine quality control tests.
- Utilize PACS, Putty, Carevue, OpenVista, and CDI PACS systems for image management and reporting.
- Implement radiation protection measures in accordance with established guidelines.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess an Associate's Degree in Applied Science and have a strong preference for experience in MRI technology.
Licensure and Certification:
Candidates must meet the requirements for the ARRT Registry and hold a current New Jersey State License. Advanced ARRT Certification in MRI is strongly preferred. BLS certification from an AHA-approved program is required.
