Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Material Handler to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing general warehouse work, including receiving and storing materials, and retrieving materials to supply production operations or support customer shipment of company products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Offload materials from trucks and trailers
  • Place materials in designated areas and manage space and bin locations
  • Perform receiving verification counts and escalate quality concerns to the receiving inspector
  • Maintain accurate records and inventory balances and product identification
  • Work directly with production personnel to coordinate the movement of materials from the warehouse to manufacturing and assembly lines
  • Perform transaction inventory entries into the ERP system
  • Comply with applicable safety procedures and report unsafe conditions or potential safety hazards to the Supervisor or appropriate resource
  • Notify the Supervisor or other appropriate resources when problems arise concerning equipment, operations, materials, inventory, and standard work documentation
  • Dispose of scrap, bracing, cardboard, and packaging dunnage in proper designated areas
  • Maintain equipment, including safety checks
  • Ensure that product meets Sportech's quality specifications
  • Perform rotational assignments as needed
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area following 5S procedures and practices
  • Participate actively as a team member through continuous improvement activities to meet customer needs
Requirements
  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent plus 1 year or more of relevant experience
  • Forklift training and certification required
  • Ability to lift and perform other physically demanding tasks associated with material handling and receiving
  • Accurate counting skill
  • Some computer skills
  • Ability to collaborate and build relationships with team members
