Plant Operations Director

Deanna Nesbit & Associates, Inc., LLC is seeking a highly skilled Plant Operations Director to oversee the day-to-day operations of our manufacturing facility in Grand Rapids, MI.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in production management, with a proven track record of improving efficiency, reducing costs, and enhancing product quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Production Oversight: Ensure that products are produced according to specifications and in the most cost-effective manner.
  2. Personnel Management: Supervise, train, and evaluate team members to ensure they have the necessary resources to perform their jobs.
  3. Quality Assurance: Implement quality assurance processes and checks to ensure that products meet or exceed industry standards.
  4. Budgeting and Financial Oversight: Assist in developing and managing the plant's budget, monitoring operational costs, and implementing cost-saving measures.
  5. Safety and Compliance: Implement and maintain safety protocols to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  6. Maintenance and Equipment: Ensure that machinery and equipment are maintained and in good working condition.
  7. Continuous Improvement: Implement lean manufacturing practices, quality control processes, and other best practices to continuously improve production efficiency and product quality.
  8. Supply Chain Management: Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and monitor inventory levels.
  9. Communication: Serve as the primary liaison between the plant and corporate office, ensuring open communication lines between departments and levels of personnel.
  10. Customer Relations: Address customer complaints or feedback related to product quality or delivery, collaborating with sales and customer service teams to ensure customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in management or equivalent work experience.
  2. 10 years of experience in production and manufacturing management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Demonstrated ability in process improvement.
  2. Understanding of material management activities in a manufacturing setting.
  3. Trained in LEAN principles.
  4. ERP Systems.
  5. Production Planning and Scheduling.
  6. Value Stream Mapping.
