About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technician to join our team at Ochsner Health System. As a Surgical Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain surgical equipment and supplies for endoscopy and surgical procedures
  • Assist surgeons and other medical staff during procedures, ensuring a safe and efficient environment
  • Monitor and maintain aseptic technique and sterile environments
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and technologies
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; graduation from an accredited surgical technology program preferred
  • 1 year of experience in a similar medical setting; certification in surgical technology a plus
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
