You will work closely with a team of healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients, including those with complex comorbidities.
Responsibilities:
Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing treatments, and educating patients and families on disease management and self-care.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized plans of care.
Lead and participate in team meetings to discuss patient progress and develop strategies for improving patient outcomes.
Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care, including medication administration, treatments, and test results.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve patient care and outcomes.
Requirements:
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois.
Current BLS/CPR certification.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Working Conditions:
The 5B Urology/Nephrology unit is a fast-paced environment with a high volume of patients.
You will be exposed to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue, as well as contagious diseases and potentially hazardous materials.
You will be required to wear personal protective equipment, including gloves and masks, to prevent exposure to infectious agents.
You will be expected to maintain a clean and safe environment, including the disposal of biohazardous waste and the cleaning of equipment and surfaces.
