This role requires the capability and initiative to safely manage multiple ovens in the Pre-Cooked Department, producing egg patties, omelets, and French toast while adhering to high standards of efficiency as established by the department.


A comprehensive understanding of product specifications, cooking processes, pre-heating systems, and the mechanical operation of various ovens is essential.

Demonstrated abilities should exceed those of an Operator I.

Both customers and the organization benefit from the high-quality products produced by oven technicians, ensuring satisfaction and ongoing business relationships.

Qualifications:

Responsibilities Include:
Oversee the operation of all ovens (mold and belt) and manage more than one oven simultaneously, if required.

Possess in-depth knowledge of the entire oven area (ovens, pre-heating systems, transfer conveyors, and spiral freezers). Assist in troubleshooting oven issues and collaborate with maintenance to identify problems.

Ability to adjust pre-heat scrapes during production runs.
Ensure all Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) documentation is accurate and complete. Support the Lead Person in maintaining production levels during absences.

Exhibit acute product recognition skills to determine if products meet specifications and take corrective actions as necessary.

Maintain a clean and safe work environment while ensuring the highest quality products are produced.

Notify the Lead and/or Supervisor of any changes in conditions or issues as they arise.
Collaborate with the Lead and/or Supervisor to develop improved processing methods.
Participate as a member of the Oven Operators Council.
Understand the responsibilities of line workers assigned to specific ovens and monitor their performance.

Expected to follow safe work practices, adhere to GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions, and ensure product quality.

Report any conditions or practices that may negatively impact food safety, quality, or personnel safety to management.
Ensure compliance with regulations at all times.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:
EDUCATION &

EXPERIENCE:
Less than high school education

Language Skills:
Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

Ability to write basic correspondence.

Ability to effectively communicate information in one-on-one and small group settings.

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations in various units of measure, including whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Ability to calculate rates, ratios, and percentages, and to interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense to follow instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to address problems involving multiple concrete variables in standardized situations.

Licenses, Certificates, Registrations:
Examples of required licenses, certificates, and registrations include:* Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) Certification.

Other Skills and Abilities:
Strong mechanical skills – familiarity with tools such as Allen wrenches, screwdrivers, and other general equipment.

Comprehensive knowledge of all five ovens (mold and belt) in the department, surpassing the understanding of an Operator I. Basic computer skills to operate Programmable Logic Controls (PLC's) for ovens and spirals.

Effective communication, writing, and verbal skills, with the ability to collaborate well with others.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
Capacity to lift up to 50 lbs safely.
Willingness to work indoors in a warm, humid environment for the duration of the shift.
Ability to navigate stairs.

Knowledge of and adherence to all safety procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), and the ability to set a positive example for colleagues. Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the work area.

Equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully fulfill the essential duties.
