Custodian Supervisor

Under the direction of the Custodian Supervisor II, the incumbent performs janitorial services, trains and supervises incarcerated individual workers engaged in daily janitorial functions. This position supervises Custodian ll's and Custodian l's. The incumbent has regular, direct responsibility for work supervision, on-the-job training, and work performance evaluation of multiple incarcerated individuals who substantially replace civil service employees for a total of at least 120 hours per pay period.

• Supervise and train incarcerated individual workers in janitorial functions.
• Perform janitorial services as needed.
• Conduct work performance evaluations and provide feedback to incarcerated individual workers.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations.
• Collaborate with medical and custody staff to ensure a safe work environment.

Persons appointed to this position must be reasonably able to maintain sufficient strength, agility, and endurance to perform during stressful situations encountered on the job without compromising their health and well-being or that of their fellow employees or incarcerated individuals. Assignments during tour of duty may include sole responsibility for the supervision of incarcerated individuals and/or the protection of personal and real property.
