Licensed Land Surveyor & Mapper

The Licensed Land Surveyor (LLS) will be tasked with executing sophisticated land surveying operations primarily in an office environment. This professional will support the development and guidance of surveying personnel, encompassing boundary identification, cost estimation, quality assurance, and control of surveying methodologies, while fostering effective communication among team members and managing crew schedules. The LLS is expected to have expertise in topographic, control/geodetic, construction staking, boundary/ROW identification, and ALTA surveying.

Key Responsibilities -

  • Conducts evaluations for complex boundary surveys and generates related plats and descriptions.
  • Performs advanced computations utilizing field survey data.
  • Assists in the creation of right-of-way plans and executes quality assessments.
  • Drafts or reviews survey documentation and legal descriptions.
  • Formulates project scopes and cost estimates.
  • Works in conjunction with the survey Team Leader for professional assessment of project deliverables.
  • Establishes project quality control and assurance protocols.
  • Provides technical guidance and leadership in project strategizing.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert and represents the firm at various professional events.

Required Qualifications -

  • Must possess a Florida Professional Surveyor & Mapper License.
  • Strong understanding of mathematical principles applicable to surveying.
  • Availability for overnight travel and willingness to work overtime as necessary.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Experience with Trimble Business Center is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with OpenRoads Designer MicroStation, including GeoPak and/or OpenRoads, is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD is beneficial.
  • Experience in GIS is a plus.
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, attention to detail, and analytical skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively, providing guidance and feedback to meet objectives.
