The Director of Geomatics Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Geomatics to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in survey and geomatics, with a passion for utilizing technology to achieve superior results. The role will involve overseeing the daily operation of our geomatics department, reviewing and supervising work performed by survey staff members, and implementing quality control processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operation of the geomatics department, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of services
• Review and supervise work performed by survey staff members, providing guidance and support as needed
• Perform calculations and process field data, ensuring accuracy and quality
• Implement quality control processes to ensure high standards are met
• Interact with clients and coordinate projects, ensuring seamless delivery
• Contribute to business development, project estimating, and proposal preparation, helping to drive growth and success

Qualifications

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in the geomatics industry, with 3 years in a supervisory position
• Must possess a Professional Land Surveyors license in Massachusetts
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and team members
• Competency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and field calculations, with a strong understanding of geomatics principles and practices
• A strong desire to utilize advanced technologies to solve traditional problems and achieve better solutions
• Familiarity with laser scanning/lidar, UAV data collection, and/or GIS is a plus
• Registration in other New England states and/or Florida is a plus
