Job Summary

The Respiratory Therapist will provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment at Rutland Regional Medical Center. This role requires a strong foundation in respiratory care, with the ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.



Key Responsibilities

  • Assessment and Planning
    • Conduct thorough assessments of patients to identify respiratory care needs
    • Develop and implement individualized patient care plans

  • Implementation and Evaluation
    • Provide respiratory care services, including ventilation management and oxygen therapy
    • Evaluate patient response to treatment and make adjustments as needed

  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Work effectively with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
    • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams



Requirements

  • Education
    • Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy from a CoARC-accredited program

  • Experience
    • Prior experience in respiratory care preferred

  • Certifications and Licenses
    • Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) certification
    • RRT certification preferred or plan in place to acquire
    • Current Vermont State license
    • BLS certification through the American Heart Association

  • Skills and Abilities
    • Strong knowledge of respiratory care assessment and mechanical ventilation management
    • Working knowledge of respiratory equipment
    • Ability to provide expert-level direct clinical care
    • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
    • Conflict resolution skills
    • Basic Microsoft Windows desktop application and navigation skills
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
