About the Role:

The Clinical Educator provides consultation and education to patients, families, staff, and physicians regarding the care of patients, assumes a leadership role in issues relating to patient care, and acts as a change agent to support institutional initiatives pertaining to the care of patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a role model in the management of select patient populations through direct or indirect care; Acts as a leader in monitoring, evaluating, and helping to establish the standard of practice.
  • Assesses the learning needs of colleagues within patient care settings in order to plan, organize, coordinate, and participate in development and/or teaching of programs to meet those identified needs.
  • Develops, reviews, and revises standards of care, policies, procedures, practice guidelines, classes, and protocols of care to reflect current evidence-based practice and changing technology.
  • Promotes, participates in, or conducts ongoing research in clinical practice.
  • Develops patient education materials that are easy-to-read/understand and culturally sensitive to ensure clinicians have the resources essential to support the educational needs of the patient, family, and community.
  • Utilizes all available platforms, including written, electronic, and web-based services, to provide education and promote learning, including collaboration with other organizations on language access services to encompass diverse patient populations.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Education: Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution; or currently enrolled in a Master's degree in Nursing program with anticipated achievement within 2-3 years.
  • Licensure / Certification: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Ohio; Professional certification(s) preferred; BLS Healthcare Provider training required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years recent experience in the area of specialization preferred.
  • Demonstrates leadership and teaching experience.
