Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Chiller Foreman to join our team at Johnson Controls. This is a rewarding opportunity to utilize your skills and knowledge in commercial refrigeration to provide exceptional service to our customers.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of Journeyman Chiller Mechanics and Apprentices, executing contract maintenance visits, inspections, site assessments, and recommending necessary upgrades or repairs to prolong equipment life cycle. You will establish and maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors, and coworkers through effective communication skills.

Main Responsibilities

  • Executing contract maintenance visits, inspections, and site assessments
  • Leading a team of Journeyman Chiller Mechanics and Apprentices
  • Providing quote estimates for labor and material repairs and upgrades
  • Servicing products and equipment on assigned projects, ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Using cutting-edge software and technology to diagnose and repair equipment
  • Maintaining safety standards and security of company assets
  • Working as part of a team dedicated to delivering high-quality service
  • Participating in on-call rotations due to our 24/7 service operation

Requirements

  • Valid Red Seal Refrigeration and A/C certification
  • Valid ODS certification
  • More than 5 years of commercial, industrial, and/or institutional experience with all types of chillers, various compressor technologies, chiller control systems, and speed drives
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software and working proficiency with handheld computers (e.g., smartphones, iPads)
  • Adherence to our company's safety program

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly rate for this position is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) / rate sheet. We offer benefits through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement. The estimated annual salary range for this position is $85,000-$110,000 based on industry standards and location considerations.
