Job Title: Nurse Specialist

Job Summary:

The Nurse Specialist at CivicMinds, Inc. is responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care during the pre- and post-operative process for patients undergoing surgical and other invasive procedures. This role is an integral part of the patient's care team, working closely with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure an optimal care experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize the nursing process as a basis of care, acknowledging, coordinating, and implementing diagnostic and therapeutic orders for each patient.
• Administer medications, observe, chart, and report effects in a safe and accurate manner.
• Arrange outpatient postoperative appointments with the surgeon's office during office hours, provide nourishment as indicated, and review postoperative instructions with patients and/or responsible parties.
• Perform pre-op physical assessments, check charts for completion of consent, history, and physical, and report ordered diagnostic studies.
• Assess patient condition, vital signs, patency of airway, level of consciousness, condition of wound, dressing, patency of IV, and condition of site.

Requirements:

• Active Registered Nurse license issued by the WA Department of Health.
• Active BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• CPAN certification encouraged, BSN preferred.
