Job Summary:
As a Medical Laboratory Technician at Christus Health, you will play a vital role in providing accurate and timely laboratory results to support patient care. Your responsibilities will include performing clinical testing in various laboratory sections, maintaining quality control and performance improvement initiatives, and ensuring the proper handling and distribution of blood products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to analyze patient samples and provide accurate results.
- Conduct quality control and performance improvement activities to ensure the accuracy and reliability of laboratory results.
- Recognize and respond to critical values and notify medical team members as necessary.
- Provide clerical and administrative support to laboratory operations, including phlebotomy and blood product distribution.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field.
- MLT (ASCP) or CLT (AMT) certification or eligibility.
- Diploma or transcript and designated certification/license or eligibility required at time of hire.
- Licensure as required by state.
- Registered as MLT (ASCP) or CLT (AMT) or equivalent within 60 days of hire.
Work Environment:
This is a full-time position in a fast-paced laboratory environment. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
