Position Overview

Job Title: Rheumatology Specialist

Role Summary:
  • The Rheumatology Specialist is responsible for delivering comprehensive patient care and emergency medical services to ensure the health care needs of patients are consistently met.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Medical Doctor (MD)
  • Active and unrestricted medical license in Louisiana
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Patient Care
    1. Delivers direct patient care in various settings, formulates treatment strategies, and evaluates patient responses to interventions while maintaining the highest standards of health care services.
    2. Provides quality emergency medical care on an on-call basis, collaborating with fellow physicians to meet patient health care needs effectively.
  2. Quality Assurance and Improvement
    1. Explores innovative techniques, practices, and tools to enhance the quality and efficiency of health care services offered to patients.
    2. Contributes to the development and execution of continuous quality improvement initiatives and engages in interdisciplinary quality enhancement efforts, ensuring services are delivered with compassion and respect.
    3. Upholds the hospital's mission and values while adhering to departmental and institutional policies to foster high-quality health care delivery and operational effectiveness.
    4. Enhances personal performance by staying updated with the latest advancements in the field through relevant seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations.
  3. Collaboration and Education
    1. Works in partnership with other medical professionals to guarantee the delivery of superior medical care and advanced health services.
    2. Engages in educational activities, training sessions, and in-service meetings to share expertise and promote the professional development of new staff, volunteers, and interns.
  4. Additional Responsibilities
    1. Performs other tasks as assigned or requested.
