Key Responsibilities:- Utilize various radiation therapy equipment while adhering to established safety protocols.
- Accurately interpret physician prescriptions, diagnoses, and treatment plans to ensure precise treatment setups.
- Maintain effective communication with patients throughout their treatment sessions, ensuring their comfort and understanding.
- Conduct daily quality assurance checks on linear accelerators and CT simulators, documenting all findings accurately.
- Organize and schedule patient treatments and simulations, accommodating their individual needs and preferences.
- Administer external beam radiation therapy treatments, monitoring patients for any adverse reactions or complications.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention policies and maintain a clean and organized treatment environment.
- Complete all necessary documentation for treatments and billing accurately and in a timely manner.
Applicants should possess a high school diploma or equivalent and have graduated from an accredited radiation oncology program. Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiation Therapy is required, or candidates must be board eligible, with certification expected within three months of hire. Ongoing education to maintain ARRT certification is essential.
