Job Title: Registration Representative

Job Summary:

The Registration Representative will be responsible for providing exceptional patient service and ensuring a smooth registration process for patients and visitors. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, physicians, and hospital staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Registration and Check-in: Register patients in accordance with established standards and policies, ensuring accurate and up-to-date patient information is documented in the computer and chart.
  • Front Office Duties: Perform all front office duties, including answering telephones, scheduling patient appointments, entering physician charges daily, balancing the cash drawer daily, and collecting self-pay monies, co-pays, and patient balances.
  • Patient Communication: Greet and assist patients and visitors, ascertaining their needs and directing them accordingly.
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the clinical team, including data entry and other tasks as needed.

Requirements:

  • Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience in a medical office setting preferred.
  • Skills: Proficiency with Windows-based desktop applications, PC keyboard data entry skills, and ability to type. Basic knowledge of computers, office equipment, medical terminology, and health insurance/managed care plans required.
  • Certifications: CPT/ICD-10 coding knowledge preferred.
  • Personal Qualities: Excellent attitude, interpersonal skills, and communication abilities necessary to interact with patients, physicians, and hospital staff. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment required.
