Job Summary

The Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) is a vital member of our multidisciplinary team, providing direct and indirect services to consumers in a person-centered, trauma-informed, and individualized approach. This role requires a strong understanding of evidence-based practices and the ability to work collaboratively with clients to develop and implement treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, including measurable goals and objectives, and complete regular progress reviews.
  • Facilitate psycho-education classes, group therapy, support groups, and individual counseling sessions.
  • Input clinical documentation into our electronic health record system in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Link and refer consumers to appropriate services and resources.
  • Perform biopsychosocial intakes and assessments, and explore diagnoses and treatment options with clients.
  • Screen for substance abuse and mental health status, and provide referrals for further evaluation and treatment as needed.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in psychology, sociology, social work, or a related field from an accredited university, or equivalent experience.
  • Current Texas licensure as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) in good standing.
  • One year of experience working with consumers diagnosed with substance abuse, mental health, or dual diagnosis.
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based practices, diagnostic and statistical manual of mental disorders, and HIPAA regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a behavioral science field.
  • Minimum of one year of full-time work experience in the social services or substance abuse services.
  • Professional experience working with consumers diagnosed with substance abuse and/or co-occurring disorders.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Work Environment

This role is based in our 601 N Frio Bldg. 1 location, with a regular schedule of Tuesday - Saturday, 8:30am - 5:30pm.
