Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team in a clinical leadership role at Christus Health.
About the Role:
This is a per diem position that requires the ability to work independently and demonstrate awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. The successful candidate will provide routine and complex care, with the ability to develop long-range goals or plans. They will also be responsible for continuing to develop their ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing.
Responsibilities:
- Meet expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
- Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients, consistent with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice.
- Address increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their level of practice.
- Administer medications and treatments using appropriate protocols, monitor for side effects, and evaluate the effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
- Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identify issues and resources.
CORE COMPETENCIES:
The successful candidate will utilize the nursing process to provide high-quality care, communicate effectively with healthcare teams, and develop and implement individualized plans of care. They will also be responsible for implementing patient care and therapeutic procedures, monitoring and documenting progress, and evaluating the effectiveness of care.
Technical Competencies:
The Nurse Practitioner will follow established clinical policies and standards, analyze documentation, and ensure organizational compliance. They will also assist in the development and implementation of specific procedures, work with control and monitoring mechanisms, tools, and techniques, and share experiences with maintaining paper and electronic patient documentation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred.
- 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty, preferred.
- BLS required.
- RN License in state of employment or compact.
Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
