Job Summary

Sun Harbor Manor is seeking a skilled and compassionate LPN to join our team. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality nursing care to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to residents, including treatments, under the medical direction of the resident's attending physician.
  • Supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.
  • Ensure that all nursing personnel comply with written policies and procedures established by the facility.
  • Meet with assigned nursing staff and support personnel to plan shift services, programs, and activities.
  • Participate in facility surveys made by authorized government agencies as may be requested.
  • Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required.
  • Complete accident/incident reports as necessary.
  • Maintain the daily report.
  • Perform administrative duties, such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc., as necessary.
  • Receive telephone orders from physicians and record as per facility policy.
  • Administer medications as ordered by the physician as per facility policy and procedure.
  • Ensure that controlled drug records are accurate for your shift. Count controlled drugs with oncoming shift.
  • Participate in orientation of new employees to your shift, the policies and procedures applicable to job position and duties.
  • Attend and participate in in-service education programs.
  • Monitor nursing personnel to ensure safety standards and infection control policies and procedures are followed.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information.
  • Know and comply with and ensure that all personnel respect resident's rights.
Requirements
  • Completed a practical nursing program approved by the New York State Education Department and have a valid NYS LPN License.
  • Previous experience in skilled setting a plus.
