Job Summary

As a member of the nursing team at Corewell Health, providing exceptional patient care is our top priority. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to our patients, following their individual plans, unit routines, and hospital policies under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, you will be an integral part of our team, making a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide care to patients according to their plan of care, specific unit routines, and hospital policy under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
  • Document care provided in the electronic medical record.
  • Transport patients safely via wheelchair or stretcher, dispatch services, and document services appropriately.
  • Observe patients who require constant observation, either in person or via remote video monitoring, to maximize their safety.
  • Perform general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit.
  • Maintain current knowledge and certification.
  • Attend all required Safety Training programs and describe responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job-related hazards.
  • Follow the Hospital Exposure Control Plans/Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens.
  • Demonstrate respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.
  • Promote effective working relations and work effectively as part of a department/unit team inter and intra departmentally to facilitate the department's/unit's ability to meet its goals and objectives.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred.
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association or ARC American Red Cross certification required.
  • CRT-Nursing Assistant - LARA-BCHS Michigan Department of Licensing & Regulatory Affairs certification preferred.
