The Assistant Director of Residence Life is a key leadership position within the Department of Housing, Residence Life and Dining Services at Austin Peay State University. This role is responsible for providing visionary leadership and guidance to all residential programs and staff, with a focus on enhancing the residential experience and promoting student success and well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and mentor a team of Coordinators, providing guidance and support for their professional growth and development.
- Craft and implement effective strategies to attract and hire a diverse and talented team of residential life staff, fostering an inclusive and vibrant community.
- Conduct annual performance reviews, employing a strengths-based approach to coach and develop team members, ensuring they excel in their roles.
- Assume leadership of the Residence Life program in the Director's absence, ensuring continuity and excellence in program operations.
- Master's degree in college student personnel, higher education administration, or a related area.
- Minimum three (3) years of residence life-related management or administrative experience.
- Experience supervising staff.
