Job Title: Plastics Buyer

We are seeking a skilled Plastics Buyer to join our team at IWT Primary Manufacturing Plant. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for purchasing polypropylene and polyethylene raw materials to meet our production demands.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Purchase polypropylene and polyethylene raw materials to meet production demands.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to negotiate prices and improve quality.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends to ensure optimal material pricing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth material procurement and delivery.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in material purchasing, preferably in the plastics industry.
  • Strong knowledge of polypropylene and polyethylene raw materials.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to analyze market trends and make data-driven decisions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Enterprise System (JDEdwards Enterprise One).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Database management skillset and experience with data reporting and mining.
  • Hands-on experience with plastics processing, grinding, extrusions, and float-sink technologies.
  • 10+ years of experience in plastics purchasing, post-industrial and/or post-consumer.
