Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Medical Transport Specialist to join our team at St. John's Hospital. As a Medical Transport Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering and picking up laboratory and pathology specimens, reports, and supplies between hospital facilities, medical offices, and other designated patient service centers.

This is a great opportunity for students in college to gain experience in the hospital setting or for retirees looking to pick up some work hours. The position requires a valid state driver's license with an excellent driving record and a high school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and pick up laboratory and pathology specimens, reports, and supplies between hospital facilities, medical offices, and other designated patient service centers.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service to clients, physicians, office and lab personnel at all times.
  • Perform other tasks or responsibilities as assigned by the department manager/director.

Requirements:

  • Valid state driver's license with an excellent driving record.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • OSHA/DOT/IATA certification for diagnostic specimen packaging and shipping.
  • Blood borne pathogen and Chemical safety annual class requirements.

Work Schedule:

This is a PRN/Per Diem position, requiring a few days per week, rotating weekends, and varied hours. The position will increase and decrease depending on hospital needs.
