About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Powell Industries. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing the production of mechanical assemblies and components for electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical assemblies and components for electrical systems
  • Lead engineering teams and conduct research to ensure successful project implementation
  • Analyze data and provide technical expertise to ensure mechanical designs meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure mechanical designs meet customer requirements
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues and mentor junior engineers
Requirements
  • BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technology, or related field
  • Minimum 4-8 years of experience in an engineering role within the manufacturing industry
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience with electrical systems
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic understanding of power systems
  • Proficient with electrical design
  • Advanced drafting/CAD skills
Working Conditions

The employee will typically perform duties in a normal office environment with some work in a shop environment and exposure to the elements. There may also be some work performed in the field with exposure to construction sites or active customer facilities.
