Job Title: Massage Therapist

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Massage Therapist to join our team at The Greenbrier Hotel. As a Massage Therapist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional massage and bodywork services to our guests, ensuring their relaxation and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform various types of localized and full-body massages to guests
  • Administer hydrotherapy treatments and exfoliating services
  • Ensure The Greenbrier experience by providing exceptional customer service and maintaining a clean and organized work environment
  • Adhere to policies and procedures of the facility
  • Report any incidents or accidents to the Spa Director
  • Understand and use universal precautions when providing services
  • Assess contraindications of guests that may prevent service from taking place
  • Maintain the highest level of product knowledge and have complete knowledge of all spa services presently offered
  • Recommend products for home use with a minimum service-to-sales ratio of 25%
  • Perform all treatments on services' menu based on current certifications
  • Suggest beneficial treatments offered in the spa to guests
  • Understand the ingredients in products and explain their benefits to guests
  • Answer guests' questions in a knowledgeable and professional manner
  • Begins and ends all treatments on time
  • Works assigned schedule
  • Ensures that work areas are clean and set according to procedures
  • Informs Spa Director of product needs
  • Creates and maintains client cards with treatment notes, when appropriate
  • Completes all assigned side work
  • Attends scheduled professional trainings
  • Cleans and disinfects all equipment on a daily basis
Secondary Responsibilities:
  • Attend Spa/departmental meetings as scheduled
  • Complete other duties assigned by the Spa Director
  • Assist staff with lifting and storing facility equipment, furniture, and products to help maintain facility and prepare for special events
Requirements:
  • Previous massage experience preferred with exposure to hydrotherapy and exfoliation services
  • Ability to explain various treatments/services to guests as well as the benefits of each
  • Previous esthetician experience preferred
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs
Education:
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Licensed in the state of WV
Communication Skills:
  • Must be able to express information clearly and communicate in a personable and professional manner
  • Customer service experience, preferably in a spa
  • Excellent customer service skills and work ethic
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Personable, pleasant, and friendly attitude
  • Willing and able to create a 5-star guest experience
Technical Requirements:
  • CPR and Red Cross
  • Use of proper body mechanics when performing services
Supervision:
  • Reports to Spa Director and Assistant Spa Director
  • Willingness to follow suggestions of more senior co-workers
  • Self-motivated and able to assume responsibility to complete assignments
Other Requirements:
  • Willing to be a team member
  • Willing to perform cross-gender massages
  • Must be flexible and willing to perform any service offered
  • Must be knowledgeable of all services and benefits
  • Must be comfortable with product recommendation
  • Efficient, well-organized, and able to handle a variety of duties simultaneously
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, and motivational
  • Professional manner, discretion, and appearance
