Position OverviewWe are seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Gastroenterologist to become a vital part of our esteemed gastroenterology practice in Southwest Michigan. This established group comprises five outpatient gastroenterologists, one hospitalist gastroenterologist, and five advanced practice providers. Our practice conducts procedures at various hospital-based and outpatient endoscopy centers across multiple counties.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive medical care by interviewing, examining, and treating patients to address their gastrointestinal health needs.
- Educate patients on wellness, prevention, and early detection, offering valuable resources and materials.
- Make informed decisions regarding referrals based on patient assessments.
- Exercise clinical judgment in all aspects of patient care, including prescribing treatments and medications.
- Document all patient interactions and services in the medical record accurately.
- Participate in ongoing education and process improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
- Supervise mid-level medical staff and nursing clinical staff as assigned.
Applicants must possess a medical degree, a current medical license in Michigan, and relevant certifications. A minimum of two years of direct or internship experience is required. Candidates should demonstrate:
- Thorough knowledge of medical principles and pharmacological agents.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold patient privacy.
