Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Sales Engineer to join our team at Douglas Fast Net. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of TCP/IP, Ethernet transport, and VoIP technologies, as well as excellent communication and presentation skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify customer needs and provide technical expertise throughout the sales process.
  • Design and present tailored technical solutions for voice and data services.
  • Assist in the preparation of quotes and technical proposals, including detailed cost estimates and network configurations.
  • Conduct site surveys to assess customer environments and recommend optimal network solutions.
  • Present and demonstrate technical products and services to customers, providing clear and concise explanations of how they meet customer requirements.
  • Serve as a liaison between the sales and engineering teams, ensuring customer needs are translated into technical specifications.
  • Stay up to date with the latest ISP technologies, networking equipment, and industry trends to ensure customer solutions remain competitive.
  • Provide post-sale support as needed, including troubleshooting technical issues and assisting with service deployment.
Requirements
  • An associate's degree plus 2 years of experience working in an equivalent level position, or 4 years of experience in an equivalent level position.
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP, Ethernet transport, routing and switching protocols.
  • Strong knowledge of VoIP technologies, including SIP trunking, hosted voice solutions, and traditional voice systems.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong proficiency of Office 365 suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Visio.
  • A self-starter with a proven ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to conduct site visits and customer consultations as needed.
