We are seeking a seasoned Financial Analyst Senior to join our team at the Texas State Auditor's Office. As a key member of our audit team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial health and transparency of state agencies.

The estimated annual salary for this position is $64,000-$88,000. In addition to your base salary, you can also expect to receive benefits and bonuses as per company policies.

About the Job

As a Financial Analyst Senior, your primary responsibility will be to perform auditing work for the State Auditor's Office. You will be responsible for risk assessments, developing audit programs, conducting audit procedures, and making recommendations to improve government operations.

You will work closely with our team to identify areas of improvement and develop strategies to address them. Your analytical skills and attention to detail will be essential in ensuring that our audits are thorough and accurate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and complete significant aspects of an audit
  • Review IT systems and controls to assess data reliability and security
  • Prepare or supervise the preparation of flowcharts, diagrams, and tables depicting IT systems and processes
  • Apply project management tools to plan and track an audit's timeframes
  • Determine the appropriate data analysis tools and use one or more to complete audit procedures
  • Prepare and review audit documentation to ensure conformance with auditing standards
  • Presents verbal and written information to clients and management

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, computer science, or a related field
  • 2-4 years' experience in auditing, information technology/systems auditing, financial analysis, or other relevant fields
  • Relevant certifications and advanced degrees may substitute for one year of experience

Working Conditions

This is a full-time position that requires travel up to 25% within Texas. You must be authorized to work in the United States and willing to work independently with some guidance from supervisors.
