Job Description
  1. Provide day-to-day supervision of nursing tasks on the unit, ensuring smooth operations.
  2. Counsel, teach, and supervise nursing personnel who provide care to residents during assigned shifts.
  3. Conduct regular rounds on each resident to assess their needs and evaluate the effectiveness of nursing care provided.
  4. Oversee the review and updating of unit's resident care plans to ensure they remain relevant and current.
  5. Participate in monthly interdisciplinary resident care plan conferences and MD care plans as needed.
  6. Engage with residents' family members to address their concerns in a professional and empathetic manner.
  7. Foster open communication among unit personnel across all shifts, promoting a collaborative work environment.
  8. Verify the accuracy of monthly re-caps/orders for each resident on the unit.
  9. Guarantee a safe and secure environment on the unit at all times.
  10. Evaluate and complete nursing staff evaluations for 7-3 shift personnel.
  11. Monitor unit supplies to ensure adequate stock levels.
  12. Alert supervisor to any issues involving supervised employees or other departments.
  13. Assign and oversee daily tasks for all nursing personnel on the unit.
  14. Respond promptly to any emergency or urgent resident need when called.
  15. Execute various tasks under the direction of a C.N.A. and/or staff nurse.
  16. Stay informed about the Nursing Department Policy and Procedure manual, ensuring easy access.
  17. Participate in Team Meetings and other meetings requested by Nursing Administration.
  18. Maintain a valid RN license from the State of Indiana at all times.
  19. Adhere to Hooverwood's Corporate Compliance program and its Code of Conduct.
  20. Achieve good attendance according to the attendance policy.
  21. Complete tasks assigned by Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, and the Executive Director.
  22. Evaluate referrals for admission to Kraft Commons, ensuring thorough assessment.
