We are seeking a highly skilled Veterinary Technician to join our team at North Jones Animal Hospital in Laurel, Mississippi. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional animal care and support services.

Responsibilities

As a Veterinary Technician, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Animal restraint and handling
  • Triage of incoming patients
  • Collection and analysis of lab samples
  • Diagnostic imaging
  • Nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases
  • Administration of medications
  • Effective communication with clients

You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate medical records, performing laboratory tests, and preparing animals for surgery. Additionally, you will be expected to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations and provide excellent customer service to clients and their pets.

Requirements

To be successful as a Veterinary Technician, you will need:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a certified veterinary technician
  • A high level of emotional intelligence and empathy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Knowledge of animal behavior and body language
