Job Overview

Position Summary:
Responsible for overseeing all aspects of central plant construction, including the installation of boilers, chillers, cooling towers, coil connections, pumps, and heat exchangers. This role involves managing the workforce on-site to ensure efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret blueprints and schematics to execute necessary tasks
  • Conduct layout planning
  • Supervise on-site personnel
  • Ensure availability of essential tools

Additional Duties:

  • Accountable for company resources utilized at the job site
  • Procure materials from local suppliers in accordance with company policies
  • Maintain a valid driver's license
  • Perform other assigned tasks as required

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a four-year apprenticeship in the relevant field is preferred
  • Possession of a journeyman gasfitter's license
  • At least two years of commercial piping experience as a mechanic
  • Familiarity with the installation of control valves, two-way valves, and three-way valves

Skills and Competencies:

  • Ability to comprehend written instructions and documents related to work
  • Logical reasoning skills to evaluate solutions and approaches to challenges
  • Thorough understanding of hydronic piping, including copper piping, soldering, brazing, and pipe fabrication
  • Capability to pass a welding/brazing test, if necessary
  • Proficient in performing mathematical calculations
  • Knowledge of tools and equipment essential for job completion

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift weights up to 60 pounds
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Capability to climb ladders for work purposes
  • Willingness to work at elevated heights

Work Environment:

  • May require travel to various job sites
  • Exposure to adverse weather conditions and potentially hazardous environments
  • Availability for weekend or night shifts as necessary
