Job Summary and Responsibilities- Perform examination and treatment rooms preparation before and after patient care
- Conduct basic and routine vision screening examinations
- Administer eye medications
- Clean and maintain ophthalmic instruments
- Assist physicians during minor in-office procedures
The Ophthalmic Technician must be able to perform pressure checks and refractions, work in a fast-paced environment, and complete work-ups within a timeframe of 15-20 minutes. Additionally, the Ophthalmic Technician will conduct diagnostic tests such as central and peripheral visual field, ocular motility, color vision, pharmacological pupil tests, or tonometry tests to determine intraocular pressure.
